Hannan and Bodoor met in the Azraq camp when they were in ninth grade and have been inseparable ever since. Their friendship and unwavering support for each other has carried them through the hardships, disappointments, and challenges of the refugee experience.
After the arduous journey to Jordan with her father, Hannan had been out of school for three years. With little education and few skills at the time, she was encouraged to marry. The marriage lasted only sixth months when she discovered she was pregnant.
Bodoor arrived in Jordan in the back of a sheep-filled truck carrying her six month old sister. She describes her life in Syria as paradise, with her close family and days in the country now only a memory. She loves astronomy and dreams of becoming a scientist and studying the wonders of the universe.
